Waterbed Health Benefits
An increasing number of people are realising that as well as the superior comfort and relaxing properties, waterbeds also offer significant health benefits as well.
Backache and Strain
Traditional bedsprung mattresses create pressure points along the entire length of the body. The average person will experience excessive pressure causing them to adjust their sleeping position up to 90 times per night. That's 90 times per night that you will move and reach a waken state. This is caused by the pressure points a normal mattress will exert on your body.
Waterbeds work in a unique way, enabling the pressure to be evened out over the entire surface of your body. This results in a better nights sleep for everybody, especially if you are currently experiencing back problems.
All our waterbeds are supplied with heaters that fit discretely under the mattress. The main reason they are installed is to heat the mattresses to you desired temperature level depending on the weather. However, if you suffer from Arthritis then a warm mattress will provide you with some much needed relief from aching joints as well as helping your muscles relax and improving your circulation. This makes a waterbed the perfect choice for anyone effected.
Asthma and Allergies
Waterbeds are proven to be more hygenic then normal beds because the mattress is made out of vinyl or some other similar material. The mattress is then covered with a waterbed sheet that can be taken off and washed in the usual way. However with a normal mattress on a traditional sprung bed, dust mites feed off dead skin, deep inside the mattress and increase significantly year on year.
Sleep problems occur in as much as 30% of the population and can be caused by a wide variety of factors. These include stress, pain, light/noise distrubances, temperature or just generally uncomfortableness. A waterbed is not a cure for insomnia but it can provide the conditions in terms of comfort and temperature that will help you fall asleep and stay asleep for longer.
